The UAE's agricultural sector is one of the shining pictures reflecting the civilizational and economic progress experienced by the country under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. All the credit goes to Almighty Allah and efforts of the builder of the country's agricultural renaissance, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul in peace, whose love to the land had not changed. He spared no effort in developing agriculture as translated in Sheikh Zayed's famous saying, "give me agriculture and I will give you civilization".
Despite the difficulties and challenges faced by the agricultural sector in Abu Dhabi Emirate, the sector was able to overcome all those obstacles and attain tangible achievements by developing ambitious plans and policies to achieve long-term sustainable agricultural development. The emirate achieved this thanks to the unstinting support of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and the continuous follow-up of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of ADAFSA.
To implement priorities of Abu Dhabi's policy agenda that aim at realizing a sustainable agricultural sector preserves the environment and enhances the emirate's food security and within Abu Dhabi Government strategy for the agricultural sector, ADAFSA's agricultural affairs division to achieve goals entrusted to the authority by implementing agricultural extension programs. The authority offers technical, extension and agricultural services to farmers, implement the latest systems and good agricultural practices, and provide farmers with advice, logistic support and technical services, to realize a sustainable agricultural sector and enhance food security in the emirate.
