In support of the UAE's digital transformation and trade infrastructure development, ADAFSA launched a project to manage food import and export information in June 2022. The Food Import and Export Management Information System (FIEMIS) provides a single window for importers and exporters to submit and track orders, in addition to facilitating procedures for imported food products based on the database available to ADAFSA and its partners.
It also provides the service of releasing imported food shipments before the shipment arrives at the port, as well as tracking import and export orders. The scope of the platform includes registering and converting all food import and export activities to a unified control platform that will cover field operations based on the risk-based system, business operations, and service automation. The food import and export platform is a success story for digital transformation and the development of trade infrastructure, and contributes to the sustainable development of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates.

Introduction
Food waste is not just a local issue, but a global crisis. We at the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) are committed to raising awareness about the impacts of food loss and waste, and empowering our community with solutions that can make a difference.
Economic Impact: Food waste comes at a great cost to our economy. When we waste food, we also waste the resources that went into producing it.
Social Impact: As we waste food, there are others in our community who suffer from food insecurity.
Environmental Impact: Wasted food ends up in landfills, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions.
Who We Are
ADAFSA is a government organization dedicated to ensuring the health and sustainability of Abu Dhabi's agricultural and food systems. This campaign is part of our ongoing commitment to promote responsible consumption and sustainable practices.
Our Mission
Our mission is to reduce food loss and waste in Abu Dhabi and contribute to a sustainable future for all. We aim to raise awareness, promote actionable solutions, and engage the public in activities that can contribute to this mission.
Our approach:
Educate: Promote awareness on the importance and benefits of reducing food loss and waste.
Innovate: Encourage and implement technological solutions to reduce food loss and waste.
Participate: Collaborate with restaurants, supermarkets, farms, and households to reduce food waste across the supply chain.
What You Can Do!
Buy Only What You Need: Plan your meals and grocery trips ahead of time.
Properly Store Your Food: Correct storage of food can extend its shelf life.
Don't Be Scared of Ugly Food: Not all delicious and nutritious food looks 'perfect'. Embrace the 'ugly' fruits and vegetables!
